Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information CoWriter Ink (“the Service”, operated by Lokami Press) collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, email address, and authentication details when you sign up (including via Google OAuth, if you choose that option).
  • Book content: the topics, research, outlines, chapters, descriptions, and cover preferences you create or generate while using the Service.
  • Billing information: subscription and payment details, processed and stored by Stripe — we do not store your full card number ourselves.
  • Usage data: which features you use, generation activity, and credit consumption, used to operate and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate the Service (generating and saving your book content), process payments, provide customer support, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Processors

To provide the Service, we share data with the following processors, only as needed to perform their function:

  • Anthropic — processes the prompts and context needed to generate your book content.
  • Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Stripe — processes subscription and top-up payments.
  • Replicate — generates and upscales AI cover images.
  • Resend — delivers transactional emails (signup confirmation, password reset).

Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data they process on our behalf.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. See our cookie banner for more detail and to manage your preference.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and book content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a project or your account, we remove the associated content from our active systems, subject to any backups retained for a limited period for disaster recovery.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can manage most of this yourself from your account settings, or contact us to make a request.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date.
